Things to Do Before an Article Submission

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

Author: Dmytro Fodoreyev

Article marketing is one of the most powerful tools used for product/website promotions. This technique attracts many new readers to your blog/website and definitely it increases your sales as well. Article marketing is one of the best strategies to make money online. Read the following paragraph to know more about article marketing and get some tips as well.

The basic thing for article marketing is to have an article. You must have a strong knowledge in English to write an article or you can also outsource the job. Submit the article to article directories which have high page rank. Some of the best directories are ezine, articlesbase, articledashboard etc. The editors of these sites will review your article and if it meets their editorial guidelines then your article will be published in these sites. The first and best thing about article marketing is that it gives you one-way backlinks. These one-way backlinks gives your blog/website a better page rank and good search engine positions as well.

· Do not promote anything inside the article as this may reduce the chances of approval in the directories.

· Give only the factual information in your article as this may help in attracting readers.

· Always do more research for the content and do not just rewrite the things.

· Give an eye catching title to your articles as this helps in attracting readers

· Make short and sweet sentences.

· Insert your keywords inside the body at appropriate places and do not stuff it.

· Use bulleted points and make the article neat.

· Always have a very good resource box when you are submitting and add your URL for your keyword.

First You Write It And That’s The Easy Part

Friday, June 19th, 2009

confused

Most people concur that writing is not always easy – especially when you’re not wired that way. Most people would imagine TALKING a much better, more convenient form of communication. It takes effort to write. But for strange, weird people like me, writing is easier. That is….before this whole online social networking thing took it a few steps deeper.

Writing, for most writers today, is a form of promotion for ourselves. The more we write, the more we get out there, the more people we reach, the more people get to know about it. If you do a credible job, you invariably will attract a few fans and followers as time goes on.

With the online social networking phenomenon, it’s no longer the case.

Writing is the easy part….the physical part of typing the article out, editing and proofing them. And THEN comes the hard part. I know some people are thinking, ‘That’s it, right? You’re done! You get it published or send it out or something, right?’ WRONG.

I said ‘promotion’ up there and an article does not promote itself. You need to push it out there, hence, the work AFTER the writing is done. First, you’ll post it up, of course, then you put it up on your Facebook account to let all your friends and family members know that you’ve just written some masterpiece. And you get on Twitter and tweet about it to your followers so that they can get a read of it too. It’s not a prerequisite but some people repeat their tweets (RT – ReTweet) the same link with different write-up….just in case someone missed it. Some people do it up to 8, 9, 10 times a day. Sometimes they do it the next day, next week…well, it’s up to you how much you want to annoy your followers, really.

Done? No. Don’t forget to plug the story into article directories too and that’ll take a bit of time but you’ll chill while waiting. And of course, you’re going to have to place some links in your Facebook group walls and also in your blog to let readers know the article is there.

Done? No. Don’t forget the online bookmarking sites because lots of people go through them and an extra link can’t be a bad thing. So, you go into your digg.com, stumbleupon, Yahoo! buzz, propeller.com, delicious.com, furl.net…and stick the link up there with a short write-up to….yes, to let people know the article is there.

See? One article and tons of work after that. You see why writing is the easy part now? I might just start thinking that talking is way faster some day.

Would your publish your own article in your website?

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

Here’s a note for a crazy Thursday. Tomorrow is Labor’s Day and I ain’t giving myself a holiday. I know I am such a hard-assed boss!In order to determine whether an article is a good one or not, let’s take a look at it from the reader’s point of view.

For future reference, it’s always a ’step-into-the-readers’-shoes’ tactic that works best. It works in a website, it works in a blog and it works in article directories.I am assuming you’ve heard about how contributing articles to web content sites or article directories for promotional purposes.

If you’ve not, head over to www.ezinearticles.comwww.goarticles.com and www.articlesdashboard.com for more information. They should have sufficient information in there to help you understand what that is all about.

Anyway, the point of writing this note here today is to ask you a question. When you’re writing your article marketing articles, if you were another website or blog owner, do you think you will publish those articles? I’ve seen some really FANTASTIC ones in there but I just can’t help but keep reminding all of you out there that the articles need to be publish-worthy!

Otherwise, you’re not maximizing on the potential result of those articles.Write useful (amusing, if possible) articles that makes others want to publish it. Not just whack out a few words with a link at the bottom.

That’s losing the whole point of article marketing. Now, go and write a very useful article on your industry and start using article marketing as an online marketing avenue right now!

How to Work Your SEO Content Development Strategy

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

At this point in time, when you’ve just started your website, you’re probably thinking about a SEO content development strategy that could help you secure a good position in your favorite search engine (it’s probably Google but I am not going to say just ONE single search engine because of locality). In order to bring in the traffic from search engines, you’ll need to have a strong SEO content development strategy that will work in multiple search engines, not just one and the person or company that hire to do this for you would have to be well-versed with multiple engines.

For example, in your plans, you’ll need to get someone to develop content thaT ATTRACTS not only search engines but is appealing to the readers as well. There is really no point in developing web content that brings in the search engines but not readers because REMEMBER, you’re trying to make money. The SEO content development strategy would be completely different if you were trying to make some money off of advertisements placed on a shell web template. If that is the case, it’s perfectly fine for you to stick to a singular strategy built for a single search engine. If you’re not, then here’s what you’ve got to do.

Your web content has got to be news-worthy. This is a no-brainer but even the best people in the SEO content development strategy industry tend to forget this in their quest to attract the search engines. Very few ever commits to or purchase from a website or business the first time they chances upon it. The trust comes in a couple of visits later. So, keep this in mind when working on your SEO content development strategy….you want it to stick a little the first time round.

bloggingEither hire multiple content writers or writers who can diversify. The purpose? It’s simple! Different types of content appeals to different people and considering the fact that you’re aiming at different sectors worked on by different personalities, it’s best if you diversify your SEO content development strategy a little to give yourself a little buffer. You don’t keep selling beef to a vegetarian, do you? So, this works the same way.

Reveal your own personality and get close to your readers. In your SEO content development strategy, make sure you get someone to get close to your readers. A decade back, a website is a faceless entity whereby information is freely dispensed. In today’s cyberspce, if you don’t have a personality or a face, it’s hard to win the war. Your competitors have blogs, facebook accounts, twitter, delicious and what-have-you-nots and you’ve got to be the same way if you want to connect with your readers. There’s really no way to get your customers to buy from you unless you’re amazon.com or a popular name in your industry. So, work your SEO content development strategy around that thought.

SEO content development strategy for regular publication of articles. You don’t do it one time and then hope for a huge amount of traffic. You do it consistently and persistently over time, regularly updating and pulling in the people and buying their trust. This is how an SEO content development strategy works now. Gone are the days whereby you write a basic web page content and let it do its work because they don’t work beyond being piled on by the multitude of page content in cyberspace. If you know how to hire an SEO content development strategy team, so do they and in order to get ahead of them, you’ve got to be persistent and patient.

There are no two ways about this, sadly.

An article a day….that’s all you need

Friday, November 14th, 2008

If you’re new to the cyberworld and have heard the word ‘article marketing’ uttered a few times, you must be wondering what articles had to do with marketing and how can both ‘article’ and ‘marketing’ be combined into one single word. Well, here’s the thing. On the web, word is a big thing. When you have words, you have the chance to market yourself - hence, the word article marketing.

All you have to do is to sit down and write an article a day for every day of the month and post them in sites like www.ezinearticles.com and then in your own personal blog or website; within a couple of months, I can promise you that you’ll see a difference in the numbers!

Perhaps, in the beginning, you should be warned not to expect tens of thousands of visitors to your website or blog. Internet marketing is a slow and steady thing - within a couple of months, I am VERY SURE, if you;ve done your work well, you will see a difference.

So, there you go. One article a day. That’s all you need.

No SEO without standard

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

One of the biggest movers and shakers in the SEO world is Ron Jones who is a resident blogger (perhaps more) on www.searchenginewatch.com. If you know what you’re worth in the world search engine optimization, then you should put a note down in your journal or diary to catch a bit of what’s inside this guru’s mind.

As we’ve mentioned time and time again, tirelessly yet exhausted, that the standard for SEO must be set. There cannot ever be a pluck and stick method of writing because it corrupts of the article writing standards! Nobody ever wants to buy anything because of an article that doesn’t make sense. But as with anything else on the planet, they moment something works, the moment word gets out, everyone tries to fast-track everything and forgets about the quality of things.

It’s almost like when people figure out there are gems in an area, everyone flocks to it, people talk about it, everyone wants a piece of the pie and nobody slows down to see if the rocks are actually gems. Some would even fabricate tales and try to make top-quality gems out of complete rubbish!

That’s what’s happening to article marketing and the SEO marketing world.

Some of the articles that people are writing in the name of ‘traffic’ is completely rubbish! It makes us here, at www.contentmagician.com, ashamed to be associated with the activity that we used to be so proud of, article marketing.

VALUABLE INSIGHT BY RON JONES from SEARCHENGINEWATCH

In our last two installments, I raised the question whether we should concern ourselves with, focus on, or even want SEO standards. I received many responses in the form of feedback, e-mails and thoughts posted on Sphinn. Here’s what I heard:

The Response

Overall, people were positive about standards. Most people agree that there should be some standards in place for various reasons. One important reason was brought out by Terry Van Horne, founder of SEOPros.org, when he stated, “Standards would be one way to get over the ‘credibility’ hump.”

Another reader echoed similar sentiments, effectively saying that without a standards, without a reference, it’s difficult to sell the service to skeptical people, and it’s nearly impossible to convince them that what they’ve heard from their buddy, who read some article, isn’t necessarily “best practices.”

The piranhas are waiting – Article Marketing Tactics

Monday, April 28th, 2008

by Marsha Maung

There’s this one client of mine whom I’ve been working for for a very long time….the first couple of months, we tediously worked on article marketing, among other search engine marketing activities, till one fine day, we discovered that we managed to get the website up to the first page in google. We were ecstatic about it and slowed down activities for a bit…to a less frantic pace, that is. Then one fine day, about three to four weeks down the road, he emailed me with CAPITAL LETTERS asking me what happened to his first page ranking and what was it that I do?

Befuddled, I went online and checked and…found out that his biggest competitor in the business had taken over the No.1 spot in Google and that his ranking was demoted to a page 2. I can tell you that he was a mad unhappy man and demanded to get his ranking up….like I was the main man in Google. Yikes! Anyway, I spent a great many days trying to explain to him that article marketing and search engine promotion is like a never ending game. That when you stop or slow down the work, the articles, the updates and the promotion, your rankings will most likely suffer a drop.

Why?, he asked. (more…)

How Does Article Marketing Work For My Business

Article Marketing is a method of marketing where you write short articles and share them with the online community. It allows you to show your expertise is a field, allowing you to be perceived as an expert.

In order for your article marketing efforts to be successful, you cannot blatant self promote in the article you write. It has to have benefit to your readers. They must be able to gain useful information about the article you are writing. This is what keeps them interested in reading your article. (more…)

How to effectively make use of your freelance writer

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

Many people have come to me voicing their problems about using freelance writers and then they curiously ask me, “How in hell do you survive? I don’t think I can trust another freelance writer again – not in the very near future, anyway”. How do freelance writers survive? Gosh….I’ve never asked me the same question. I guess freelance writers like me just roll with the punches, I guess. But what I think this fellow was trying to get at was this – how to work with your freelance writer in such a way that thing get done fast, does not cost a whole truckload of money and does not zap your patience like hyperactive kids.

OK, then let me start answering this question by saying that I’ve got huge problems as a freelance writer. Being a copywriter or writer is not easy….not being a good one, anyway because here’s what a good freelance copywriter needs to do. Say, Mr. A who owns a boutique comes over to me and say, “Hey, you! You’re a freelance writer. Now, I’ll give you XXX amount of dollars and you write my copy for me in two days”.

What does a freelance writer do
If I take the project on, what I have to do is this….I have to sit down, surf the web, read materials and download stuff so that I understand the industry. I am in the freelance writing industry, not the fashion industry and if he wants me to write something powerful and believable for him, I’ve got to, first, UNDERSTAND his industry, his market, his products and find something to yap about. Whilst being a good yapper often makes a good copywriter, that’s not all there is to it. OK, so boutique was a very general type of business….now, how about fixing computers or maybe road building? I know absolutely nothing about these stuff and if given the task, I would have to dig far and deep into the industry even before I can start writing something for the client.

Article Marketing Secrets - How To Write An Ebook Every Single Week With Your Articles?

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

By Franck Silvestre

If you wrote and submitted more than ten articles, then you have what it takes to write a short ebook on your topic and offer it to your list. All you need to do is to download the free open office suite and write in their word processor tool called writer.

With open office, you can create your own pdf for free.

Then, you need to quickly create an outline for your articles and this shouldn’t take you more than thirty minutes. It’s good to work with a timer to boost your productivity and avoid procrastination.

Here is how to do it step by step. Do not over complicate the process. (more…)
