About
Content Magician…that is a name of I call myself online. I also call myself a Wizardrette of Words. Whichever it is, it’s a name. I am not really a magician because I suck at card games. I can’t even cheat my in-law’s cats and dogs for the life of me. My name? Marsha Maung….a world-based professional writer, social networking consultant and online marketing extraordinai- (cough) ….well, I’ll stop at consultant.
Anyway, I started off as a freelance writer who was pushed off the edge by insane love for her son and desperation for money. I’ve always been a writer but take note that I’ve outgrown my penchant for writing princess stories, and lived my life knowing that I can string a couple of words together to form a sentence.
My career saw me starting out as a sales assistant selling shoes, selling CDs, serving up food, etc. I knew I was destined for making money.
Then upon graduating from my law degree, I worked in a bank as their Legal Officer for four (painful) (and) (torturous) years reading legal documents, writing up threatening letters and making fear-inducing phone calls. Frankly, I didn’t have a lot of fun then and I would rather let the dog chew off my foot than to go back doing that.
Then I sang. Yes, you read right. I was a performer for more or less two years with different bands altogether and it is another penchant of mine that I was born with and can never quite discard. This explains the love for limelight and ability to write up a storm on the internet.
I was lucky that I got hired by two dotbombs who gave me the basics for search engine marketing and web development. AsianAuto.com saw me sleeping with search engine algorithms streaming through my dreams. I also wrote a whole lot about Formula 1 racing and all the dishy guys and gals…but that’s besides the point, of course. I learnt. Then I took it a step further with AsiaOnAir.com where I took a bigger role in web development and content development. I was paid to watch movies and listen to music and then write about them. Cool job, isn’t it? I have to admit, it’s the highlight of my shortlived career there because it bombed.
Well, they bombed and I decided to come out and write on my own. I initially wrote web content and articles for multiple websites and then moved on to copywriting. I dealt mainly with advertisement copy and also company profiles (yyyyaaawwwnnnn!!!) and figured that I wasn’t developing myself enough or cashing in on my knowledge about how search engines worked. I knew all of that but I wasn’t making full use of it, you see.
So, I moved on a little further.
After ten years of toiling around, I am now completely capable of holding my own in cyberspace. Writing articles and developing a web content strategy is not all that I am about. I help small, medium and large businesses build their online marketing strategies online. Developing keywords and monitoring competitors, socializing online via social bookmarking and networking for better business relationships is also what I do.
Naturally, I am a blogger too and help my customers develop the content for their blogs and promote their blogs online.
Wow….did I just write all of that? It sounds like a lot for one person, I know. But I have people behind me, thankfully. Reliable people who dance with me in cyberspace. I have NEVER met half of them but they’ve been with me for a long time and I trust them completely when I give them jobs.
Well, if you’re interested in finding out how I, humble Marsha Maung, who has been doing nothing but boast on this page, can help you with your content development strategy, online marketing, social networking and internet promotions, shoot me an email.
Cheers!
