The Mistake a Web Content Writer Should Never Make

Everyone tells you how to do this, how to do that, how to find clients, how to write kick-ass copy, how to entice the customers to buy stuff from you just from the stuff you’ve written, how you can make millions writing ebooks…blah blah blah.

But no one bothers to tell a freelance writer the mistake is for a web content writer….one that he/she should avoid making at all costs.

The mistake is….to stop writing for yourself!

Listen, we’ve been in the freelance writing world ever since forever (it’s not true but it feels just about right) and we’ve made every single mistake there is to make in the freelance world because no on bothers to tell us and when we started out, all this freelance web content writing thing was…like….an illusion. Everyone wished that it could be the very platform that they can use to launch their products or services or start a business or earn some income from their websites, but no one dared trudge this way because only stoopeed people do.

The smart ones let the dumb ones go first.

And being impulsively dumb, this bunch of web content writers went ahead and stepped on all the land mines and cleared it for the others to follow. And we got pretty good at that too….and also at web content writing, of course. So much so that we got a lot of business from freelancing alone and some of us quit our day jobs just to write all those stuff for business folks like yourself, perhaps.

And we forgot to write for ourselves. Each and every one of us were packed tight and we left our website for ages….devoid of content and updates. While our client’s websites and blogs filled up with powerful web content, ours died a slow and painful death.

Once the funeral was over, we started over again and here we are.

So, being pioneers of making big blunders in the web content writing business, our advice to you would be this - NEVER STOP MARKETING YOURSELF! Never stop writing content for your website REGARDLESS because it spells death for your business. Update it and fill it up with information everyday. It doesn’t even matter (really) how long the update is, how flowery it is, how impressive it is….all that’s bullshit. Just update it as often as you can to maintain the activity.

So, don’t say we didn’t warn you. Keep up the writing and plug your website or blog with content that kicks people from here to Uganda. Or from Uganda to Hong Kong or from Seoul to Panama.
